Feeedback...

I've just come out of my first tutorial on the 'THANK YOU!' brief, and have to say i'm feeling more confused and overwhelmed than ever. Just prior to entering the tutorial I started thinking about my Apple Mac idea, & how I could say thank you directly to the founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak. I thought about using my Mac to design something saying thank you to him like a flash animation or some sort of document i could send him. I also thought about the people who inspired me to be a designer, such as Vince Frost & Josef Muller Brockman, & designing something inspired by them saying thank you as a dedication.

When I got into the crit I fumbled my way through explaining my ideas, & although Neil didn't seem particularly keen on any of them he said my idea of saying thank you for the Mac seemed like my strongest. He told me I needed to do it on a bigger scale rather than designing a document for print, such as designing something to hang in the Apple stores (although this wouldn't say thank you to Steve Wozniak directly) or design a website where people could share stories about why they have to be thankful for the Mac. I had some input from the rest of the tutorial group, telling me to think about the evolution of the Mac, & being thankful to the software developers because of the massive progress that has been made with software.

I think I now need to define who & why exactly I want to thank, & think of an interesting format to thank them with. For tomorrow. Think I may go and stock up on pro plus & red bull....
